Hymené General Guide
Basic Controls:
Right then, you're got your CONSOLE, and your
main screen. To press console press your console key (default = ` ), or press ESCAPE
for a full screen console. In the console you can type stuff, commands
which usually begin with a '/' or if you're connected, just type to talk
to everyone in the same location as you.
You have a walk FORWARD button, walk BACKWARDS,
LEFT, RIGHT (strafe), move around with your mouse. You can invert
your mouse, and you have a RUN/WALK toggle button. You can only run
for a certain amount of time before you get knackered, and you have to stop, or
walk, before you can run again.
You have a FIRE button, which can fire your
guns, or if you don't carry a gun, it will make a swipe sound, this is a PUNCH.
You can punch people, and if you swing your mouse, or jump, you can get
powerfuller punches and knock them out.
You have buttons for your GUN, usually 1,2,3,4
etc. You have to own the gun to use it of course. There is a MODIFIER button,
which you can use to toggle gun modifiers if you have them. There is a PUT
GUN AWAY button too.
You can JUMP and the button is usually
spacebar. There is an INVENTORY button which you hold to see what you're
carrying. You can hold TAB to see scores (if in an arena) or to see your
health and other simple stats.
In the config program you can chose to invert
or smooth your mouse, change your video mode and stuff. The PICMAP(DETAIL)
is the detail of textures. 1 being highest, 2 being high too, 3 medium, all the
way down to about 7. On slow computers, putting this down makes it run quicker.
The PICMIP(SCALE) is weird. The higher the more
you can see, but your gun seems to sink into the floor. Don't toggle with this
unless you're pro, or perhaps you like racing at ridiclious speeds. 0.75 should
do it.
Basic setup
As I should have said before, config.exe is your basic
configuration. You can change your controls and stuff there. For being online
you need to chose a NAME, a RACE and your COLORS. You can
change your race and colors any time and it would alter your profile - but if
you change your name it will be a different profile. Profiles are saved onto
your computer under the /player directory as .ply files. If you wish to
erase a profile, simply delete that file.
Change your MOUSE SENSIVITY until you like it.
If the server requires a different port number make sure your REMOTE PORT is
set to that number.
If buttons don't seem to work, exit and go into the
config, and re-assign that key. Some keyboards have different keycodes, that'll
be why.
Basic commands:
F10 or /quit
will exit the game just like that.
/connect [host] will connect to a server
If you want to change the remote port that you connect
to, do it in your config first.
/magic level to
see your magic level
/level to
see your level (admins only really)
/trade [item char name] to trade an item in
/build [item char name] to build an item
/whisper [name] [message] to privately message someone
/radio [name] [message] to radio someone elsewhere on the server, only if you have a
communicator
/team [name] [message] to team talk in a TDM, if you have a communicator
/pray [message] to pray to the angels a message
/speed test on
/speed test off
This is a speed test which resets itself when you are
at 0mph, and when you touch 60, it will tell you how long it took to get from 0
to 60. Keep going and it'll tell you 0-100 also.
/hitch [name] a bit iffy atm, sometimes gotta move around a bit, but get close to a
person or person-in-car and type this to hitch a ride on the back of them.

Armor:
/wear slither or /wear hymene to wear your slither armor if you have it.
/wear light to
wear the light of eden if you have it.
/wear royal to
become a royal (dragon) if you have it.
/wear robe or /wear
sherker to wear the sherker robe if you have it.
/wear none or /wear
clothes or /remove armor to remove the armor.
/warp [warp factor number] to set your warp drive. Go easy at first lol. Warp occurs from second
gear upwards. In automatics, who knows.
